For more than two decades, Impact Cutlery has specialised in handmade and custom knife making. Our bespoke service gives you the opportunity to commission a knife that reflects your individual requirements and personal style, from the overall blade profile and dimensions to the steel, handle materials, fittings and finishing details.

Each bespoke project is considered individually. Rather than limiting you to a standard production design, we work with your specifications to create a knife that is uniquely yours.

Design Your Own Custom Knife

Your bespoke knife can be developed from a photograph, sketch, drawing or description. If you already know exactly what you want, send us your design and specifications. If you are unsure about certain details, our team can help you develop the concept and select suitable materials and features.

Depending on the design, customisation options can include:

From Your Idea to a Finished Knife

A bespoke commission begins with your concept. Once we understand the design, dimensions, materials and finishing details you require, we can review the project and discuss what is practical to manufacture.

The knife is then created through a combination of skilled handwork and carefully controlled manufacturing processes, including shaping, grinding, heat treatment, handle fitting, finishing and sharpening.

Attention is given to both appearance and construction throughout the process, with the aim of producing a custom knife that combines individual character with dependable craftsmanship.

Blade Steels & Handle Materials

Material selection plays an important part in the appearance and performance of a bespoke knife. Depending on the project, we can work with a variety of knife steels and offer a broad selection of natural and modern handle materials.

Our handle options can include carefully selected woods, buffalo horn, camel bone, stag antlers, Micarta, resin composites, pinecone resin, honeycomb resin and other decorative materials.

We can help determine which combination is most appropriate for your chosen design.
