The blade is an impressive 5.75 mm thick and features a full hidden tang construction that extends seamlessly through the handle with no joints or welds, ensuring outstanding durability and balance.
The Damascus billet for this blade was folded five times, beginning with nine layers of 1095 and 15N20 steel, resulting in approximately 288 layers. This intricate mosaic pattern is the result of countless hours of skilled forging. Very few custom makers are able to maintain such complex, flowing layer patterns all the way to the cutting edge. At a microscopic level, these layered edges create a subtle saw-tooth effect that allows the blade to continue cutting effectively even as conventional edges begin to dull.
The blade has received an excellent heat treatment, delivering outstanding edge holding and retention for relentless performance. Both sides feature refined hand grinds and are expertly honed to a sharp, cutting edge.
The overall length of the sword is 26.25 inches, with a blade length of 21 inches. The beautifully finished resin handle offers a secure, comfortable grip and exceptional feel in hand. Completing the piece are a stunning hand-forged Damascus guard and butt cap, perfectly complementing the blade.
The sword weighs 950 grams, with the leather sheath weighing an additional 295 grams.
This piece is supplied with a premium, extra-thick leather sheath weighing 295 grams. The sheath is entirely hand-tooled, with heavy-duty stitching and robust construction designed to withstand years of demanding use. It is fitted for convenient belt carry.
